OUR COMPETITIONS

They are the core of our existence. We were built on them, and we will always stay true to them. Every competition we organize exists to promote and grow karting—not just as an activity, but as a sport that naturally follows. We strive to design them in a way that sets standards in our country and region while remaining as accessible and open to everyone as possible. Call them recreational or professional—it doesn’t matter. One thing is certain: our approach is fully serious, even if, at the end of the day, it’s just a weekend thrill. Truth be told, it’s a thrill that often determines how our upcoming week will unfold.

MORE ABOUT RENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The SOR Rental Championship is a sports karting competition using so-called “rental” karts—vehicles typically available for rent and recreational driving at karting tracks across Serbia. The competition is organized according to a Rulebook that is reviewed and improved each year, modeled after the regulations of the world’s biggest motorsport competitions. The championship is a private competition organized by the SOR Motorsport sports association, yet it is fully open to the public. It represents the most affordable form of competitive karting, making it an ideal starting point for any aspiring racer. In essence, the Rental Championship is an amateur karting competition run at a professional level.

The season consists of race days, each including qualifications and multiple sprint races. The driver with the most points at the end of the race day is the winner of that round. The driver with the highest overall score at the end of the final race day of the season is crowned the series champion. The top three drivers receive valuable rewards at the end of the season, designed to encourage their further pursuit of karting as a sport.

Since our association was founded in 2009, over 300 racers have competed in more than 1,000 races through this championship format. Until 2018, SOR’s Rental Championship was part of the global amateur karting series “Sodi World Series,” where it sent representatives to the world finals five times—competing on renowned tracks like RKC in Paris and Lignano in Italy. The SOR Rental Championship has served as the starting point for many ambitious drivers on their journey toward a professional racing career.

MORE ABOUT TILLOTSON T4 CUP

This competition is an excellent next step after the SOR Rental Championship or any similar event. It can also be your first step, as its concept is very similar to rental competitions and is completely open to all interested drivers, regardless of racing experience. There are no major commitments, the costs remain relatively low, yet the thrill is exponentially greater.

That said, you do need to qualify for participation through good behavior and a certain level of “speed” in rental races. But this shouldn’t be a hurdle—it’s just good preparation. The Tillotson T4 Cup is closer in price to rental competitions, yet the experience is almost identical to professional racing, where two-stroke racing karts are used—except those require significantly higher financial investments.

The karts used in the Tillotson T4 Cup share the same name as the competition itself and are available for rent, recreational driving, or training during our racing weekends and at T4 Track Days held throughout the year. More details on the kart’s specifications can be found on the Racing Team page of this site, where you’ll also find information on test and training sessions. So, before signing up for the competition, you can try the kart and see if it delivers the experience you’re looking for.

As in the Rental Championship, the top three drivers at the end of the season receive valuable prizes designed to either steer them toward professional karting or simply guarantee another year of fun—should they choose not to pursue a more serious racing career.

Almost forgot! You can WIN a spot in the Tillotson T4 Cup by winning the Tillotson T4 Qualifiers, which we also organize. These take place in the days leading up to the Cup, following the season calendar available on this site. Keep that in mind!

MORE ABOUT TILLOTSON T4 QUALIFIERS

This is a companion event to the Tillotson T4 Cup, with a symbolic name—since it can, in a way, “qualify” you for the next day’s Cup competition. It’s a qualification-style event where each registered participant competes in three timed qualifying sessions, each lasting 10 minutes. Afterward, all drivers are ranked based on their best single lap time from any of the three sessions. The fastest driver wins free entry to the next day’s Tillotson T4 Cup competition.

Unlike other competitions, here, only one prize is awarded—because there can only be one fastest driver!

To participate in T4 Qualifiers, you must meet certain conditions, but aside from that, there are no special regulations. Common sense rules always apply on the track, and like all our competitions, this event includes a detailed driver briefing, where any questions or uncertainties can be addressed.

OUR RACE DIRECTOR

Đorđe Simić is one of the founders of SOR and the first Serbian driver to drive a Formula 1 car — specifically, the 2008. championship-winning car in which Lewis Hamilton secured his title. Before claiming first place in the unique competition "Johnnie Walker’s Global Drive of a Lifetime," Simić, along with 19 other participants from around the world, underwent extensive preparations, tests, and meetings at the Silverstone circuit. There, he got a brief but valuable insight into the daily life of a Formula 1 driver. Following this experience, the finalists showcased their skills by driving various race cars, but only Simić was chosen to drive the Formula 1 car. Đorđe is one of the key figures behind SOR’s existence. As the director, driving force, and source of energy for all SOR participants since its founding.
